+Arms and interventions

ArmTypeInterventionsDescription
Jailed wire techniqueActive comparatorProcedure: jailed wire technique
Modified jailed balloon techniqueExperimentalProcedure: Modified jailed balloon technique
  • jailed wire technique (Procedure): protection of the side branch during main vessel coronary artery stenting by a wire placed in the side branch
  • Modified jailed balloon technique (Procedure): protection of the side branch during main vessel coronary artery stenting by a ballon placed in the side branch which is inflated simultaneously with main vessel stent deployment

+Outcome measures

Primary outcomes

  • side branch occlusion [intra-procedural]: TIMI III flow in the side branch < 3

Secondary outcomes

  • in-hospital MACE [immediately after the procedure]: cardio-vascular death, MI, target lesion revascularization
